Day Two of Will and Marla's Big Adventure

Made it to Seattle at 2:00 A.M. EST. Our options out of Memphis were Amsterdam or Seattle. We argued geography a bit and checked the globe and decided Seattle was at least the right direction. Flew by snow capped Mt. Rainer. It was beautiful! The flight was fine. Sat with a nice dentist from Memphis. We made it to Seattle but to our surprise our bags were not on the carrousel. We went to the lost bag area and explained our day and the ladies gave us a t-shirt and not a lot of hope. Then after more checking and searching the remote corners of the airport our new BFF "Delta girl" returned with our luggage. Apparently our luggage passed us in Canada. Stayed at the Marriott and had a good nights sleep.
All in all it was a trip...and we had fun.

We are headed out today at 2:00 local time going to Beijing by way of Tokyo. We will arrive at 10:00 P.M. (10:00 A.M. EST)
Keep us in your prayers.
Love ya, need ya, miss ya!

  1. Hey guys,

Glad to hear that you're back on track. Starting to think you'd picked up some of our luck. You know how close we are with Mr. Murphy. Hang in there. It'll get better.

  5. I am so sorry to hear about all of the frustration, but at least you two are staying positive!! I am making mom keep me posted on what is going on but I wanted to comment for myself. It won't be too much longer until we all get to meet her and I am so excited for you and Will! Goodluck and take a lot of pictures! :) Isabel doesn't realize how lucky she is having two amazing parents!

  6. Well.... I know you are lucky to have found "Delta girl," and it sounds like the headache is similar to what you would experience on a trip on Budapest Airlines. Since the "pest" has long ago been sent to the junkyard, you will have to make do with more prestigious air carriers. Speaking for my family, and as the former president of Budapest Airlines, please know that you are on our radar, and we will be following your flight path all the way to your destination. Good luck and Godspeed all the way. I'll write some inspirational stuff later. Go Boyyyy! Go Girlllll! Love, John, Julie, Jenna and Jonas

  7. No trip would be complete without routing or baggage problems, anyway, would it? (Just experienced 3 hours of riding in a cafe car on an Amtrak train in the wee hours of the morning, despite having "reserved" seats.) We're so excited for you and looking forward to meeting Isabel. I know Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bill are beside themselves with anticipation...Isabel is close to Sarah's age, so there will be someone for her to "hang with" at family parties. Good luck on the rest of the trip and God bless you all. Love, Jo
